Pillow covers for my home

Flower decorative pillow cover

My quick and easy Pillow Covers that literally takes minutes to complete :)

All you need is a fabric, scissors, and a sewing machine or needle and thread.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Measure how big you need to cut your fabric.
2. Cut your fabric front and back pieces.
3. Pin the pieces together (right side on the inside)
4. Sew using a sewing machine all the way around, making sure to leave an opening about 20 centimeters.
5. Flip your pillow cover inside out and insert your pillow! 
6. Now continue to stitch until the The Pillow close.

Once you get the hang of this process, you’ll want to cover every pillow in your house! :)

With pillow cover have new Ironing board cover too :)

So, I made more Pillow Covers, some of them are my home and other for birthday gift to my brother (Marilyn Monroe Pillows).

Bow Tie Tutorial

Do You have something to wear for, Birthday or Valentine's party? Adjust the bow pattern smaller or larger depending on the size you need. Lets start :):

3 pieces – the Bow tie, the knot in the middle, and (rubber) band that goes around the neck.

1 x Bow Tie: 12.5cm x 37.5cm
1 x Knot: 9cm x 7.5cm
2 x Band: 54cm x 4cm (Cut this piece to a point at one end) OR THE RUBBER BAND

For Children:
1 x Bow Tie: 7,5 inch  x 10.5 inch
1 x Knot: 2,5 inch x 2 inch
2 x Band: 18 inch x 2inch (Cut this piece to a point at one end) OR THE RUBBER BAND


TUTORIAL –BOW TIE
1. Pin the bow pieces in place.

2. Cut out your Bow tie pattern pieces.

3. Next, fold the bow fabric in half (longways) right sides together and sew a seam along the edge.

4. Flip the fabric right side out, and move the seam to the middle

5. Fold the bow fabric in half again, seam side out, and sew another seam along the edge

6. Flip around again, so the seam is on the inside.

7. KNOT. Take the fabric, knot piece,  and sew right sides together

8. Pick up your needle, thread it with two strands of embroidery cotton and (Ladder) stitch both knot sides ends until the knot is close.

9. Adjust the knot around the bow tie and hand stitch to secure.

I like to use an elastic band for a quick, fun, and easy fit. :)

Teaching moms to sew / Väga vahva koosviibimine emmeda ja nende lastega :)

During the daytime I'm teaching a How To Sew Soft Toy Animal class once a month in Tallinn (Estonia)- mostly for mothers with children. Its fun- children playing and we have time to sew. So- Those moms are my students.

Korra kuus päevasel ajal koguneme õmblema- emmed koos/ilma lasteta. Lapsed saavad mängida ja emmed õmmelda- kõigil on lõbus :)

The best way to learn a anything new is to take things one step at a time. This time we did learn how to sew soft toy lamb (pattern). Learning how to sew and communicating with people- love it! :)

Felt, hearts and Valentine :)

We know it's still January, but it's time to start thinking about your Valentine. My little Valentine is 2 years old Georg, he loves felt and I like to use felt everywhere:)

So, before Valentine day I like to sew hearts. Using felt its easy and fun to sew soft toys with your children and friends.

Sewing felt use 4 Basic Handstitches: Running stitch, Back stitch, Whip stitch and Slip stitch.
All you need is a needle and some thread. Once you have your needle double threaded, be sure to knot the end and you’re ready to sew.

Räägime vildist / About felt

Räägime vildist / About felt (2mm felt is best for toy-sewing)

Kirjutan pidevalt õmblemisest- tikkimse pisted, abivahenditest nagu näiteks käärid, õmblusmasinad (ei saa märkimata jätta et Janome on minu absoluutne lemmik!/Love it!) ja paljust muust. Täiesti tähelepanuta on tänaseni jäänud teema kangad. Kus neid siis saada ja kuidas valida?

Vahel jääbki mõnel õmblejal mõni mänguasi õmblemata kuna ei ta kus sellist kangast leida nagu pildil juba valmis tootel paistab. Ei hakkagi kaua selle peale mõtlema ja läheb edasi järgmisi lõikeid otsima. Isegi viltkangast on keeruline leida (ka otsida) kui ei tea millist on kasutatud, mida poodides üldse pakutakse ja palju teisi nüansse mille taha üks õmblustöö jääda võib.

Räägime siis esmalt vildist. 

Viltkangast on tõesti päris mitu erinevat:

* Üks selline on jäik vilt mis sobib hästi jalanõude sisetallaks. Pehmete mänguasjade tegemiseks ta üldiselt ei sobi, aga näiteks põrandale mängumatiks küll.

* Teine viltkanga tüüp on pehme. See ei ole liialt pehme, see venib õige pisut ja säilitab hästi oma vormi. Selline viltkangas on ideaalne pisikeste mänguasjade õmblemiseks ja pehme mänguasja nägo põhjaks (sellele saab hästi tikkida).

* Ja kolmas on selline kohe hästi pehme ja lodev viltkangas. Sellest mänguasju ei saa aga saab muu seas ka täitematerjalina kasutada (üsna kallis lõbu).

Viltkangast ostes on vaja tähele panna veel seda et teda pakutakse erinevas paksuses- 1-10mm vahemikus. Soovitan väikest mänguasja õmmeldes valida 2mm paksusega viltkanga. Näiteks siin Karnaluksi lehel on see valikus täiesti olemas ja ka värvivalik on väga hea. Mulle meeldib siit seda tellida :)
